The project SMILE supported by FORD foundation and Madhyam Foundation aims to ensuring sustainable livelihoods to the 1075 resource poor farmers of 9 villages of Sambalpur district by promoting dairy and vegetable farming & adopting SRI method of paddy cultivation.

Through the project intervention, ADARSA provided opportunities to 1215 nos. of poor households to create or enhance the livelihoods through dairy and vegetable cultivation.

Major thrust being given to dairy & vegetable as the target families are mostly landless, small and marginal farmers. They were formed into Dairy & vegetable groups with interested members have been formed in the villages. Through these group, needs based services such as support for buying animals, and quality feeds, arranging extension services, training and marketing surplus milk production have been delivered

Capacity Building1Strengthening 2 dairy co-operatives (600 women members) and 2 vegetable growers co-operatives (1000 women members) for enhancing livelihood security.
